It is almost hard to believe that only 32 years ago you could buy a box of basketball cards for less than $15 and today it be worth anywhere from $75,000 - $100,000 dollars. To make it worse they had a hard time pushing the cards when they were released. Now days the number of known boxes of 86-87 fleer is likely less than 30 boxes. When it comes to full cases as of right now none are none to exist.
To put it perspective take the T206 Honus Wagner that is the crown jewell of any card in any sport. There are a estimated 30 boxes of 86-87 fleer left on the market, and no cases known on it either. The Honus Wagner card is estimated to have only 50-200 still in existence and can bring in a million dollars if graded good. If a case of 86-87 fleer popped up it would go deep into 7 figures on a price tag. A good estimate would be around $4 million dollars. That goes to show how powerful the 86-87 fleer product is to sale a case of boxes for a couple million more than a Honus Wagner.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... You can still buy wax packs from this year, but expect to pay well over $2,000 for a genuine un-searched wax pack. It is still a good invesment because everyday as a pack here and there gets opened it makes the other packs still unopened just that much more scare.
